Arcade Tournament - Asteroids

I've started an Asteroids tournament for those interested. There are 3 rounds in a tournament. The first round starts with 8 players (1 on 1). You have 3 chances to get a higher score than your opponent. If you win, you move on to the next round. The second round will be 4 players. The final round will be versus the remaining 2 players.

Winner will have access to the full arcade for the month of Februrary. Site Supporters may join the tournament as well; if one of them win, their membership will be extended for 3 months.

There are only 7 positions left, so join quickly! If I win, the runner-up willl receive a prize. 15-days of full arcade access or 1 month of extended membership for Site Supporters.

I'll start a new tournament each month which will include a prize for the following month.

Correct. Arcade access is limited to a few games for registered users. Site supporters have full access.

Hmmm, no one signed up for the tournament yet. If I don't get at least one person by midnight, I'll close it for this month. I'll need to have at least one person signed up per day to keep it active. If I get enough people signed up before the 18th, then it will go ahead as planned.

Gah! I had no idea until you mentioned it last night. Checked first thing after i got out of class this morning, but i guess it is too late >< I had been discouraged from looking into the arcade hearing you were the only one that can play them, but after browsing around a bit I see it is just limited to site supporters. I will be paying closer attention until my stinginess makes a well deserved contribution.

Well, I'll try to start another tournament up if you can get 6 other people interested. I was hoping to do them monthly, but since no one was signing up for the first one, I really am not going to bother. Maybe people don't understand the tournaments? Basically, when a tournament starts, you have 5 days to get 1-3 games in for each round. Your best score from those 3 games will be what your opponent has to beat. Whoever has the highest score moves on to the next round. A game doesn't really take that long. Maybe 5 minutes if you are really good.

I was looking at a few more fun activities to add to the site, but I really don't want to spend time on the coding if no one is really interested. I know everyone would rather play VG, so to each their own. I'm just going to focus on the apps we need for the forums.
