Ashes of Creation

Have any of you seen the upcoming MMORPG? SWG, EQ2, and CoD people working on this. Everything I have read and watched looks excellent so far. They have a kickstarter but funding for the core game is already secured. The kickstarter is for extra stuff and to make it more badass. My fiancee and I are excited for this game. Check it out if you guys have time.

I am not sure what to think about it. I like some of the concepts, but i am not a fan on non-consensual PvP in a PvE based game. I want to back it, but until they explain the whole flagging system, whether its going to be mirrored on Lineage's or some other hybrid system i just can't bring myself to keep my pledge. The game should definitely look pretty using Unreal engine and some of the mechanics sound interesting but are very amibtious for a tiny indie studio - will be interesting to see if they can pull them off to make them feel dynamic.

From what I have gathered the PvP system will prevent griefing. You might get killed once or twice but a couple things can happen. You will gain a buff granting you more defense and more attack if another player engages the attack and the person doing the attacking will gain a debuff. So if someone attacks you they may lose 50% health and attack against other players after the initial kill. There will also be a bounty put on the person (similar to SWG!!!) for killing that pk'er). So I don't think it will be that big of a deal.

I am not a huge fan of non-consentual PvP either. I do play on a PvP server on WoW. Last night I was able to take out two horde...twice...that tried to take me out while doing WQs :D
