    EQ - Tailoring Mats

If you want to get some tattered armor (better than nothing), here is what I need:
    Ruined Animal Pelt x 1 + Pattern

The type of animal pelt depends on your size.
    Small = wolf
    Medium = cat
    Large = bear

I can now do this combine with no fail, so if you want one of these, just send me the mats. You can hand them to me or mail them via the Parcel NPC (located at the bank).
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
If you want a large bag (10 slots) with 10% weight reduction, there are two ways I can do this. Take note, this is not trivial yet, but I'm working on it. I should be ready by tomorrow.

Reinforced Medicine Bag: Thick Grizzly Bear Skin + Spiderling Silk x 6

Hand Made Backpack: High Quality Bear Skin + Backpack Pattern

In other words, you want to kill every bear you see!
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
The following are most of the mats I need to help raise my skill:
    spider silk
    spiderling silk
    medium quality wolf skin
    medium quality cat skin
    medium quality bear skin
    low quality wolf skin
    low quality cat skin
    low quality bear skin
    high quality wolf skin
    high quality cat skin
    high quality bear skin

And, anything else that has any of these words in their name:
    hide
    fur
    leather
    skin
    pelt
    silk
    swatch

I have a small stockpile of mats I need to get to you Sarc. They are in my bank now, trying to save them for you.

You can also mail them to me. There should be a Parcel's NPC in the bank. You can use him to send items via mail.

I removed the following from my mats:
    ruined wolf pelt
    ruined cat pelt
    ruined bear pelt

But, if you have these and you want me to turn them into low level armor, just ask. I'm level 10 and half my armor was made using these items.

    ==============================================

Sarcoth, can you craft us some bags? My tailoring is currently at 76, so yes, I can now craft bags. The following is a list of likely items you will want crafted, what is needed for me to attempt it, and the likelihood of success. I apologize upfront, but there is always a chance of failure. If I fail, the materials are lost and you'll need to resupply more.

    Items:
    • Reinforced Medicine Bag
      • 6 x Spiderling Silk (not spider silk) + 1 x Thick Grizzly Bear Skin
      • Trivial @ 68, so this should be successfully 19 out of 20 times.
      • The downside is, the silk needs to first be crafted into 3 threads, and then those into one cord. There is a 4 extra chances of failure so you may want to have some backup spiderling silk just in case.

    • Handmade Backpack
      • 1 x High Quality Bear Skin + 1 Backpack Pattern (sold for 5g2s4c)
      • Trivial @ 88. These are going to be harder. At 76, I will probably success 12 times out of 20.
      • Only one combine attempt so only need 1 component each for an attempt. You may consider holding off till I get my skill up higher.

    • Studded Tunic
      • 1 x Medium Quality Cat Pelt + 5 Studs + Tunic Pattern
      • Trivial @ 56. Should be easy enough, probably 39 out of 40 attempts.
      • Cat = Medium sized races, Wolf = Small, Bear = Large.
      • The amount of studs range from 1-5 depending on what armor slot you want.
      • 3 x Metal bits are needed to make 1 x Stud. This requires 16 x Small Piece of Ore (1g7s1c each). Cost = 2p5g6s5c for the 5 studs, or 5g1s3c per stud. There is a small chance of failure.
      • Cost of Pattern = 5s2c.
      • Total cost for Studded Tunic = 2p6g1s7c + MQ Animal Pelt.

Reinforced is the next step up after studded. It is trivial at 108, so I'm going to fail a lot on these. It is very similar to studded but it requires HQ pelts instead. I'll put the costs together later. Keep in mind, if you are a large race, HQ Bear Pelts can be used for either reinforced armor or handmade backpacks. And, if you are a medium race, HQ Cat Pelts can be used for reinforced armor or tailored quivers. Small races are lucky in that HQ wolf pelts are only used in making the reinforced armor right now.

    Thick Grizzly Bear Skin:

    • This item is dropped from mobs:
      • Kithicor Woods
        • kodiak bears
        • a grizzly bear

      • Misty Thicket
        • kodiak bears, a young kodiak, a kodiak bear

      • North Karana
        • a grizzly bear

      • Rathe Mountains (see also Gukta)
        • a kodiak bear
        • a grizzly bear

      • Surefall Glade
        • a grizzly bear

      • West Commonlands
        • kodiak bears, young koadiak, kodiak bear

      • West Karana
        • a grizzly bear

Concerning the backpacks, is one of those better than the other? Everything is blocked from work. I really need to run a proxy through my house ;p

Only difference I see is that the medicine bag has a giant size capacity and weighs 2.5. The handmade backpack has a large size capacity and weighs 3.0. Both can hold 10 items. Thus, that leads me to believe the medicine bag is better, but what's the catch? Is there one? Nothing I could find.

Ahh ok awesome. I'll have to work on getting some spiderling silk then. I think I got another thick skin this morning.
