    Need help finding/using map packs

I went to MapFiend and downloaded their maps, and unless I installed them incorrectly (put them in C:\Users\Public\DayBreak\Installed Games\EverQuest\Maps) they seem to be the same maps that come with the game.

When I go in game, I can switch from Default to MapFiend, but the map does not change (which is why I think its the same maps the game comes with)

Are there any other map sites out there that are more detailed than the default maps the game comes with?

Any idea if I even installed them in the correct place?

They are not the same that comes with the game. Here is what I did.

Downloaded the map pack to a different folder, unzip it.
Went to my EverQuest/maps folder and renamed it to maps-old.
I then copied the maps folder from the map pack to the EverQuest folder.

The maps are definitely different. Names for NPC's, special camps locations, and much much more data now appears.

When in zones where there are multiple levels, make sure you click on the Height button (or whatever it is called) so you only see your current z-level. It makes it easier when trying to get around.
